Our website was recently redesigned and I’ll continue moving articles
from the old website over the next few months. I hope you’ll enjoy the
new format.
Formed in 1999, The Office Company provides tips, techniques, and tools
for those working in office environments whether at home, in a
traditional, or a mobile setting.
As the business community recognizes knowledge and intellectual
resources are key assets. The knowledge-worker and the knowledgeable
worker is the one who will survive the workplace of the new millennium.
Technology as a whole and the Internet specifically, are becoming the
measuring rods of work performance, quality and productivity. As the
world enters the knowledge age, it demands technological expertise of
every worker.
It is obvious that office workers now look to the web for learning,
too. The need to create on the web a knowledge resource for the office
worker becomes obvious. We hope that we are that resource.

| Too many people are unaware that their involvement with conflict at work can take a heavy toll on them if not tackled early enough. This is a core value and morale issue which you can choose to take on as part of your professionalism. Once you get caught up in a conflict situation this can be soul destroying and even career breaking. Your colleagues and bosses may have a view of you which is held behind your back and which can affect your progression. The impact can be far reaching on your work, credibility and trustworthiness. It really doesn't even matter if you are right or wronged. If this rings true for you, you might also be beginning to see how this has been holding you back in your career. |

(ARA)
– Do you use computers daily at work or at home? If so, you may be
suffering from computer vision syndrome and not even know it. According
to the American Optometric Association (AOA), this syndrome leaves
people vulnerable to problems like dry eye, eyestrain, neck and/or
backache, light sensitivity and fatigue. These symptoms can result from
individual visual problems, poor work station configuration and
improper work habits. |
